My background is in fine art, traditional drawing and painting. In 2000 I moved to L.A. to pursue a career in entertainment art. This is also when I got my first exposure to great drawing systems, such as Reilly Method and Steve Huston, that I continue to use and develop in my own work.
In 2006 I started working in-house as a concept designer for videogames. My most famous projects were Splatterhouse (xbox, ps3) and Star Trek Online (MMO).
In 2012 I quit my studio job to pursue an oil painting gallery career. Crazy right??!! But I love drawing and painting so much I took a leap of faith. Now I mostly paint at home and teach. I am also a relentless, continous learner. I still seek out classes, workshops and mentorships with the top artists I can find in my area. Luckily, being in LA there are many great artists and schools here.
My hope is to pass on this great knowledge and passion to you!
Here's some recent drawings I did this week. I'm sure you saw them social media :), but this is an example of how to post a pic on blogger (keep them medium thumbnail size)
Thanks again and look forward to seeing you in class.
-Chris
