Homework 1 - First exercises

Here are a part of the exercises I did for homework. But first a little introduction:

I'm probably one of the few students who doesn't work or at least strive to work with anything art related. I'm 32yrs old and this has been my passion since 16yrs. Did some courses when I was younger. But mainly stuck to basics (measurements, shading, etc.), color theory and a lot of airbrush painting. Always loved figure drawing but only now I'm taking the time to actually formally study it.

Some things I noticed:
  • Heads looking down always will seem triangular
  • Heads in 3/4 will, most of the time, look triangular
  • Heads looking up will, most of the time, look square
  • Heads at eye level will always seem round to me (usually draw women)
  • I have a huge problem seeing shapes and not "heads" (since I use Loomis and Asaro as a base for construction). By heads I mean: circle + triangular or squarish
  • Doing up to level 3 really hurts =S I rely a lot on the other higher levels to keep adjusting my measurements
